Contains the following types of materials: photographs, postcards. Covers the following wars: Civil War, World War I (WWI), World War II (WWII), Korean War, Vietnam War. Contains photographs of the following military unit: 38th Infantry Regiment. General description of the collection: The Whitehorne photograph collection includes photos that have been organized according to Whitehorne's various assignments. There is one folder containing five photos of general officers of WWII (unfortunatley none are identified). There is a folder concerning service in WWII in Hawaii, Okinawa, Iwo Jima, and Japan. That is followed by a folder both of generic scenes of the Hawaiian Islands and of troops in training there. Another folder contains photos of Ankorage and Fort Richardson, Alaska, in 1953. There is a folder of the activities of the 38th Infantry Regiment at Fort Lewis, Washington, dated 1957 when Whitehorne commanded that regiment and two folders with more than 270 photos dealing with Saudi Arabia when Whitehorne served there in an attaché position from 1959-1960.
